The 5th UIC Energy Efficiency Days conference (UIC EED 2014) jointly organized by UIC, SNCB and Infrabel will be held in the historical city of Antwerpen in Belgium, from 16 to 19 of June 2014

The major actors of the railway world at International and European level will come back on stage to discuss the key points of Energy Efficiency and Railways.
The conference will include two important parallel events: the 9th Eress Forum and the EU Co-Funded project MERLIN mid-term conference.

The conference will address a wide range of topics concerning energy use within the rail sector, including: prices, government policy, security of supply, future availability of renewable energy, the electricity market, major drivers for energy efficiency, innovation, energy efficiency measures and solutions, day to day energy management & more.

The rail system is both a major energy consumer and also one of the most energy-efficient transport modes. How can we further improve efficiency, to reduce energy consumption today and also for future generations?
